The imagery in the paintings are video monitors that were set aside during the deinstallation of Intelligent Design: Interspecies Art in winter 2010 at University of California, Riverside's Sweeney Art Gallery, where I am the director. In this sense, they are a kind of self-portraiture and are an extension of the self-portraits created in 2009. I became fascinated by their blank screens. They reminded me of blind, cataract-laden eyes. The medium is acrylic on canvas using airbrush and spray paint. All the works are 16 x 20 inches.
